Not being able to sit on the sofa is a bummer
Let me explain what I mean. I have had sciatica for a few years now, and ignored it to start with, belonging to the school of thought that thinks it’ll go away, and after a bit of massage it did improve. Charlotte (who massages me) did tell me then that I really needed to see someone to straighten me out a bit. But I didn’t. Whilst on our recent trip North to South of Spain, the fabulous Josie did work on me and it improved, but over the last couple of weeks it came back and I thought, okay now’s the time to meet this head on. So I went to see an Osteopath in Órgiva last Thursday. I wasn’t quite prepared for the fact that Daya would actually manipulate me (how stupid is that), and as a result, I am banned from sitting on the sofa at least till I see her next Tuesday to see how its all going… Not only that, I have exercises to do three times a day (which I am scared not to do, Daya is German and the efficiency chip is well installed, but lovely with it), coupled with not twisting. Hah, that’s easier said than done. The more I try not to twist, the more I seem to do it… Anyway, sitting on a hard chair watching the last of the footie isn’t great fun. It makes me realise how much I enjoy sitting on my sofa even though it needs replaced I think… This week has been great by virtue of the fact that the Teide bar/restaurant reopened after 3 weeks holiday and it’s summer in Bubión to me, sitting on the terrace amongst the cherry trees with the odd one bouncing off some unsuspecting clients head. We met up with Aisling and Chris who have been coming to this area for years and we met a few years ago and always meet up in the Teide garden and drink too much wine. This year didn’t disappoint and we had so much fun. So much so that Sarah (our Canadian house guest) has been inspired to record (podcasts) love stories, how couples met and fell in love. Starting with me and Jack, today, hah, that should be a laugh. Luckily the world cup final is at 5pm today so by 7pm we’ll start telling our tale. If the footie had been at 8pm, we might have had a problem fitting it in. I’ve included a photo today of my doggies (sadly departed) who I miss with an aching heart. I was looking at border collie stuff on the web this morning and came across 17 things you need to know about border collies and it made me cry. I long for one. We long for one. We’re currently investigating a breeder in Granada who will have puppies ready for us to have at the start of October. (Granada is close…), so we’ll see how that pans out. Oops having to wipe a flood of tears away… again.
Aw, we so enjoyed our first evening of the summer in the Teide with you all! Glad to hear you’re following osteopath orders, hopefully obedience pays off quickly.
Beautiful photos of Cassie (I think). In your hearts forever x x
