Everyone I talk to about the “route” and our adventure says “WOW”, then “WOW” again.
It is a big deal… it’s one heck of a challenge. The momentum has really grown this week. Julia had a press interview in Granada and after that we decided it might be a good idea to write to the town halls at the start and end of the route at least… una buena idea… So that’s what I am doing plus contacting all the hotels along the way to ask for support, or at least inform them what Julia is doing… This whole thing is attracting media attention so we need to be ready!
I have to confess to waking up at 0300 most mornings with my head buzzing, a mix of fear and excitement. Jack (husband) and I will leave on the 18th March to travel up through Spain and we have a mighty long list of “stuff” to take with us… 2 months away is a while for us! Today’s photo is the lighthouse at Suances, Cantabria which is the start point – 4 weeks today. We love lighthouses, and the one here is particularly handsome…
After living in Spain for a number of years and travelling a lot within Spain on holiday, we were very fortunate to spend two months travelling from Suances on the north coast to Almunecar on the south coast this year, taking two months to see the landscape. This is our tale and what happened afterwards back in our “normal” life…
