Two coffees and a croissant
Today was that sort of day, only coffee and a croissant would do. The week has been interesting, this reintegration into Bubión life and a semblance of normal routine, got well and truly highjacked by GDPR. And an internet that seemed to lie down and die every afternoon. Monday started with a trip to the vets with the darned cat. Turns out the darned cat has a nasty gum and throat infection. Some antibiotics later plus some solution to put in her mouth every day was the outcome. Have you tried putting mouth wash in a cat’s mouth, night one was ok, sort of, night two, not so great, last night, no chance. I will try again today…Tuesday we went to the Hammam in Granada with Sarah (Canadian house guest). We promised ourselves that trip a year ago, so this time we were determined to get there. All was well other than Sarah being very car sick, all those bends between Bubión and the motorway are “fatal”. Granada is a beautiful city, and a trip to the Arab baths is a must. We’re going to go back to spend a night in Granada soon, but we have to earn some money first! The rest of the week got well and truly messed up with trying to send information out to clients of clients re GDPR. And to cap it all the internet went on a serious go slow when I needed it most. Result being that I called Movistar to help, they sent a tecnico (engineer) who arrived this morning. The moment Jack mentioned that his laptop worked and I said mine and Sarah’s didn’t, we were sunk. He found every excuse under the sun to not solve the problem. The moment the tecnico left I said, I need a coffee so we went to the cafe by the bank in the next village, Capileira, where they do croissants. So 2 coffees and a croissant later I felt almost, almost, human. I had gotten up at 0730 to do yet some more GDPR admin so I needed a caffeine fix, it was serious by that time. We’ve spent more time than is good for us this week in bars, el Nuestro, the new restaurant in our village does the bestest strawberry mousse dessert thing that is to die for… it makes a change that’s for sure. Today’s photo is the Al Andalus Hammam in Granada. (I would recommend the 10am start time over the 12 midday start time).
